Plant Maintenance/Operations staff will be getting additional uniforms. At the Nov. Consultation meeting, the Alliance Team reported that some Plant Maintenance employees said the current uniform allotment was insufficient. The appearance of the uniform is important because this is how the employees present themselves to the public. For the past several years, employees were able to get six items per year (four shirts/two pants, four shirts/one pant/one jacket, etc.).
After the Nov. meeting, the administration researched the cost of raising the allotment and moved ahead with providing employees eight items per year (three pants and five shirts). Employees have a choice of a jacket or windbreaker and a belt in addition to the pants and shirts.
About 80% of the employees were measured in November. There will be a make-up measurement day on Jan. 17 for those who missed the November day.
