October is National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month

Sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the U.S. More victims could survive with greater public awareness and education and more widespread deployment of automated external defibrillators.

In 2008, Congress declared October “National Sudden Cardiac Arrest” awareness month.
Now four years-and more than a million deaths later-many people still do not understand that sudden cardiac arrest, which differs from a heart attack, affects more than 1,000 people each day, and on average, fewer than 1 in 10 victims survive.

We at the San Antonio Alliance invite you to attend our next CPR / AED / BLS certification course which will be held on Saturday morning, October 27, from 8:30 to 12:00 at the Alliance House located at 120 Adams Street.

The cost for the course is $15.00 for Alliance members and $30.00 for non members and student seating is limited. RSVP by calling the Alliance at 225-7175 to register.
