Lobby Day Details

San Antonio AllianceUncategorized

We are delighted that you will be attending Lobby Day on Monday, March 11th. We are really looking forward to this awesome day!  We will be joining hundreds of other school employees from around the state as we gather at the state capital with our message for positive change:  for our students, for our schools and communities, and for each other.

For those of you who are riding the buses, we will be leaving from Blossom Stadium parking lot at 7:30 AM.  (Don’t forget to “spring forward”.  Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday.)  We ask that you arrive between 7:00 and 7:15AM so that we can leave promptly at 7:30. We will have a pep talk at 7:15, and we usually also get some media
coverage, which you won’t want to miss. Even if you’re taking your own car rather than riding the bus, you can meet us at Blossom and go from there.

What should you wear?  Wear comfortable shoes and Alliance blue (an Alliance shirt or a royal blue shirt or the closest you can get to royal blue). Bring cameras, too!  What if it rains?  Bring an umbrella or other rain gear and come on.

We will conduct a briefing at 9:00 AM for all San Antonio area participants. Whether you ride the bus or drive, meet at the TSTA Building (316 W. 12th St., Austin, TX).  We will distribute your Lobby Day packets and buttons (your button will serve as your lunch ticket) and will cover hot issues as well as guidelines for your lobbying visits.  We will be dividing you into groups based on your State Rep districts.
