On Wednesday, September 28th, the Alliance filed a group grievance on
behalf of food service employees over safety concerns related to new duties
placed on the employees this school year. During October’s Consultation
meeting, more discussion took place about these duties, but no resolution was
reached. The grievance will continue through the grievance process.
In the meantime, if any injuries occur, employees have 24 hours to report the injury. To report an injury, request an injury reporting form from your manager and immediately fill it out and return it to him or her.
Some examples of injuries include (but are not limited to):
- Slips and Falls
- Heat Stress (symptoms include heat rash, light headedness and fatigue)
- Inhaling Chemical Fumes (symptoms include irritation to eyes, nose, throat)
