What are the Benefits from Being Part of
the Alliance Family?
With more than 3,000 members in its family, the San
Antonio Alliance of Teachers and Support Personnel is the elected
employee organization in SAISD that advocates for the rights of its
members which include teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, clerks,
cafeteria workers, counselors, bus drivers, nurses, diagnosticians
and more.
The San Antonio Alliance:

was elected by SAISD employees to be the official representative
for non-administrative employees in Consultation with the San
Antonio Independent School District. The Alliance meets monthly
with SAISD administration to give an organized voice to SAISD
employees.

offers members an opportunity to get involved and advocate issues
you care about.

is present at every school board meeting, where decisions affecting
you and your students are made.

provides support to new teachers through the Foundations
of Effective Teaching course, provided for free in collaboration
with the San Antonio District.

has staff members who know SAISD policies and procedures and
know who to call to facilitate resolution of problems.
As a merged orgainization of two national organizations, Alliance
members have the added benefit of utilizing the programs available
from both the National Education Association and
the American Federation of Teachers. These benefits
include a variety of Insurance programs, Credit and Loan Programs,
