On Thursday February 16, 2012, Alliance Vice President, Rachel Martinez, met with Alliance members who work in the SAISD Transportation Department. Martinez updated members on issues currently being discussed in the Para/Classified Consultation meetings. The two main Consultation agenda items affecting the Transportation Department are the changes to the handbook and the time and attendance initiative.
According to Martinez, the Transportation Department discussed making changes to the current handbook. Martinez suggested that a committee be created to work on the changes so there would be employee input. Any transportation employees that are interested in being part of the committee, should contact Ms. Martinez at 225-7174.
