The San Antonio Alliance of Teachers and Support Personnel is the elected employee organization in the San Antonio Independent School District. The Alliance was elected by SAISD employees to be the official representative for non-administrative employees in Consultation with SAISD.
The Alliance advocates for the rights of its members which include teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, clerks, food service employees, counselors, bus drivers, nurses, diagnosticians and more. The Alliance meets monthly with SAISD administration to give an organized voice to SAISD employees. The Alliance is present at every School Board meeting, where decisions affecting you and your students are made. The Alliance also provides support to new teachers through the Foundations of Effective Teaching Course, which is provided free in collaboration with the SAISD. The Alliance also has trained staff members who know SAISD policies and procedures and know who to call to facilitate the resolution of problems.
The Alliance is national organizations such as the National Education Association (NEA), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the AFL-CIO. It is also affiliated with the Texas AFT. The Alliance currently represents over 3,000 members in the SAISD.
