The SAISD Data Clerk Task Force was created based on recommendations made during consultation. The taskforce includes a diverse selection of both elementary and secondary data clerks, as well as administrators, Alliance Representatives and a task force facilitator.
The goal of the task force is to brainstorm solutions for workload relief. Issues include inaccuracies in student enrollment and attendance, which can become quite costly to the district. The Data Clerk Task Force believes that in order to streamline the process, changes must be made to the technology.
The task force discussed piloting and/or implementing electronically completed and printed forms. This process is known as pre-population. Pre-population automatically inserts the data into each field. Ideally, the task force would like this to be a district-wide change and not limited to a pilot program. To pre-populate, data clerks would simply type the student’s information into the correct fields one time and click save. All future forms would then pre-populate the student’s information.

Alliance Rep Elections May 27th - June 4th
Elections will take place May 27-June 4 for Alliance Representatives (AR) for the 2010-2011 school year. Under Alliance bylaws, sites are entitled to one AR per twenty members or major fraction thereof. Every site is guaranteed at least one AR. Members who want their names on the ballot are to notify one of the current ARs at their worksite, by Wednesday May 26. Current ARs will then create a ballot with the candidates' names. This is a secret ballot election. Alliance members should receive a ballot between May 27 and June 4 with ballots due back to the current ARs by Friday June 4. Read More
